Blaufränkisch
Liz' Churchill
This Blaufränkisch presents itself in dark ruby-garnet with violet reflections and shines with its powerful bouquet of ripe figs and nougat, candied almonds and orange, delicately of dried plums. Rich with medium complexity and balanced texture, well-integrated tannins, juicy blackberry fruit with a salty-mineral finish of good length, finely spicy aftertaste. An exceptionally authentic Deutschkreutz Blaufränkisch.
The basis of this wine is one of our oldest Blaufränkisch vineyards on the "Kirchberg" in Girmer, which has been family-owned for several generations and was the "home mountain" of the Pfneisl family. The oldest vines have been rooted in heavy clay soil for over 50 years, but they have now been joined by a large number of young vines. Today, it is Lisa's home mountain and receives even more attention than any other vineyard. Quality control is carried out almost daily during the morning dog walk, and this particular pun has truly earned its nickname.
