Merlot
Joe's Playground
Dark ruby-garnet, violet reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Inviting bouquet of ripe, warm blueberry and plum fruit, hints of blackberry underpinned by fine minerality and a slightly dried-herbaceous note. A touch of cedar, with subtle roasted, chocolatey wood notes in the background. Juicy, elegant with well-integrated acidity, fine tannins, complex with a velvety, long-lasting fruity finish with a hint of mocha. A good food companion.
The Mitterberg forms the basis for this village wine. Characterised by its loamy soil, it is the plateau of the Deutschkreutzer Hochberg. As one of Deutschkreutz's top sites, its unique view of the home village (a must-see!) is its special feature and absolutely justifiably the favourite vineyard of Grandpa Josef, to whom this wine was dedicated.
