Dark ruby-garnet, violet reflections, delicate brightening at the rim. Powerful bouquet of black and red berries, slightly floral, herbaceous, ethereal scent, a hint of dried spices, peppery, coffee and caramel, as well as some tobacco and frankincense. Powerful body with juicy, elegant texture, fine tannin structure, charming extra sweetness and well-balanced acidity. Mineral finish and nougat on the very long-lasting aftertaste. Still a bit closed, this formidable and extremely typical varietal representative promises good aging potential and is a versatile food companion.
Our love for Shiraz began in the early 90s, and after initial (successful) attempts, we decided to plant more Shiraz vines on Grandma Maria's inherited land. We fondly recall the 1997 Shiraz, aged in barriques, which confirmed that we had backed the right horse - and still do to this day!
