Altes Weingebirge
Blaufränkisch Central Burgenland DAC Reserve
Black-violet, with delicate rim brightening. Inviting aroma of ripe, dark fruit, spicy, dried herbs, figs. A powerful yet noble Blaufränkisch that presents its primarily fruity aromatics on the palate in an unassuming and self-contained manner. Elegant fine wood notes, delicate acidity, finessed, long finish, mocha on the finish, mineral aftertaste.
As the name suggests, the "Altes Weingebirge" is Deutschkreutz's oldest vineyard site, where winegrowing was already practiced in Roman times (or even earlier). At an altitude of up to 255m, climatically influenced by Lake Neusiedl, our vines, with an average age of 30 years (the oldest from 1959), grow on loess-loam soil with a slightly sandy top layer and limestone content in the subsoil.
